Settle on the wings of change

You hear the silence-

It dwells on those closed windows

The night falls-

Leaving you more empty-

Staggering on those broken heights

Your breath held tight

And you throttle down your tears

Brush them away, they tell-

With those trembling hands

Unlock the doors to salvation

The wind sweeps away-

Those streaks of hair

As the silence once more-

Whistles in your ears

Leading to an array of images-

Portraits of your memories-

Voices that break you -

To reside in your heart

The carriage that tells-

Of the beautiful stories-

And the heartache

Passes through your bewildered mind

Bringing down your throbbing tears-

Aging those eyes

Your chest heaves-

Weighing you down

Making your grounds heavier

As you take one step closer-

To liberating your soul

You are upon the highest-

Of the staggering heights

You take one last glance-

Upon life

As you let yourself go-

And settle on the wings of change
